Spring makes me think of birdhouses!

I've been obsessing with birdhouses for a few years now...
I love birdhouses!
I love wearing them...I love making them.

I love randomly hanging them around the city.

I love watching birds fly in and out of them…

I’m not entirely picky about bird houses…
If I could get away with it; I’d be the crazy bird house lady on my street…
(Bird feeders are another story… I hate when seeds spill and grown under the feeders, ruining my garden and the invading species)

I love that most household items can take on a new life and upcycled into a birdhouse…

Putting a birdhouse on stand alone posts often work to help keep the squirrels from chewing the entrance ways binger and claiming the house for their nests…
There are cones and even using pie plates around the base of poles, or hanging from the chain above can help (although are often unsightly)…

Copper hole covers help with that as well…

There are ways of hanging birdhouses that don’t damage the tree…

I’m a fan of all birdhouses…
I just need some trees where I can host them safely…

(This one is my new faves. They have amplified the noises coming from inside the birdhouses… I’m only sorry I didn’t save the website…)

  2. Wow, inspirational! And now I wish I had a tree!
One solution to the spilled seeds and sprouts and seed hulls... buy hulled raw unsalted sunflower seeds. That's what I do to keep my gardens free of additional strange plants (I confess, I still have nyger feeders, but I'm familiar with those seeds now, so I know what weeds to pull...
